ENTP: keep novelty without restarting every project

Two adults compare imaginative paper prototypes.

A new approach can improve a project or delay its completion by rebuilding what already works. You can keep space for exploration while protecting a version stable enough to finish.

Distinguish an improvement from a new objective

Adding an example may clarify a text; turning the article into a video series changes the work itself. Before making a change, ask whether it serves the stated objective or creates another project. Both may be worthwhile, but their costs differ. Name the change so you can deliberately accept or postpone it.

Reserve an experimental area

Keep one part flexible: an introduction, exercise or visual treatment. Hold the other elements stable until the first delivery. This avoids choosing between total rigidity and constant redesign. If an idea changes the project’s core, record its justification for a planned review.

Review the value added

After delivery, compare changes that improved understanding with those that mainly renewed your interest. Interest matters, but it need not always be maintained by changing everything. The ENTP profile may help you notice this tension; it neither condemns anyone to inconsistency nor necessarily describes your experience.

Try it in practice

Mark one stable area and one experimental area in a current project. For a week, record redesign ideas without immediately applying them. At the review, choose one change and explain the concrete problem it solves for the person receiving the work.
